Youth Acoustic Performance Workshop

FREE ONLINE REGISTRATION

WHAT: Kent Parks & Recreation is looking to add a new feature to our annual Acoustic Fest event. This year, KPR is planning to add a Youth Acoustic Performance Workshop leading up to the event. Participants in this workshop will be allowed the opportunity to perform one or two songs at the 2026 Acoustic Fest event.

SCHEDULE:

During each of the following dates, we will meet at one of two locations. If the weather cooperates, we will meet at Shelter #5 in Fred Fuller Park (601 Middlebury Road), adjacent to the backwoods stage. If it is rainy, windy, or cold, our backup location is the Old Jail House, located directly adjacent to our office (497 Middlebury Road).

Once we have registrations in, we will schedule the workshop times. Each timeslot will run for 30 minutes starting at 7:00 PM. Following registrations, we will send out a schedule of workshop times for each participant. If any of the dates below do not work for you or your performer, please let us know.

WHO: Ages 10-18

• Seeking participants that sing, play acoustic guitar, or similar acoustic instruments.

GOALS: Help beginning performers by improving their instrument skills, help them to relax and enjoy performing, and to learn practical strategies others use to prepare and perform confidently.

Participants in the workshop will get a chance to perform a song at the 2026 Acoustic Fest.
