Junior Adventure Camp

The Kent Parks & Recreation Jr. Adventure Camp is designed with outdoor adventure in mind. We work with Kent State University's Adventure Center and Cuyahoga Valley National Park to plan an entire summer outdoors for your pre-teen! See trips and activities below. All filed trip costs are included and lunch is provided.

Location: Plum Creek Park, 590 Plum St, Kent, OH 44240

Time: 9 AM - 4 PM

Who: Campers entering 4th - 6th grades

Max Enrollment: 25 Campers per week

Weekly Cost: $157 Resident/$167 Non-resident
$5 discount per week for any additional siblings

Registration: $15 one-time registration fee

What to Bring: Campers should wear clothes and shoes appropriate for outdoor play and varied weather conditions. Lunch is provided, but snacks are encouraged. Please send campers with a water bottle, sunscreen, towel, water shoes, and a change of clothes.

Biking Trip to Katie's Korner: 1:30-3 PM

What to Bring: Don't forget to send your camper with their bicycle and helmet if they would like to participate in the bike trip, as well as some spending money for a sweet treat at Katie's Korner.

Water Activities: KSU Rec & Wellness Center: 10:30 AM - 1 PM

Lunch: 1 - 1:30 PM

Environmental Education & Yoga in Nature: KPR Special Guests: 1:30 - 3PM

What to Bring: Water activities at Kent State to start the day, please send your camper in their swimsuit and don't forget a towel and change of clothes!

Morning Motion: 9:30 - 11 AM

Lunch: 12 - 12:30 PM

KSU Trip: 12:30 - 3:30 PM

What to Bring: See camp staff each week for additional details on the Kent State Trip, as it may require specific clothing/items.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park Field Trip: Times Vary, see staff for more details

What to Bring: Campers are expected to come to camp on Friday wearing their camp shirt. Check in each week with camp staff for additional information regarding the CVNP field trip and if there are any special requirements.

Camp Kickoff!

Where: Plum Creek Park, 590 Plum St, Kent

When: Thursday, May 23rd, 6:30 - 8:30 PM

Meet your counselors and other campers, ask questions, receive your field trip shirt, cool off with free Kona Ice, race through the inflatable obstacle course, and play in the park.
