HUD-funded programs

PUBLIC NOTICE

2025-2029 Programmatic Agreement for HUD-funded programs

and invitation to participate in Section 106 Consultation

The Ohio State Historic Preservation Office (OHPO) requires communities that receive funding originating from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to enter into a five-year Programmatic Agreement with OHPO to facilitate Section 106 compliance.  The City is working on finalizing the 2025-2029 Programmatic Agreement between OHPO and the City of Kent and it requires that the City of Kent notify local/county historical societies/preservation organizations about the execution of the Programmatic Agreement so that they will be aware of the process that OHPO specifies the City Of Kent will follow for projects involving historic properties.  The City of Kent has submitted a copy of the 2025-2029 Programmatic Agreement to the Kent Historical Society (KHS) and KHS signed it February 5, 2025 as a concurring party.  A copy of the draft 2025-2029 Programmatic Agreement is available in the Community Development Department by emailing kailyn.cyrus@kentohio.gov if any other preservation organizations are interested in reviewing or commenting.  Please submit comments no later than end of day on June 4, 2025.
